WHO CAN ATTEND? — This introductory-level, hands-on course features photo imaging software workflow that's open to all skill levels. Participants benefit the most from this workshop by bringing basic computer hardware and software literacy skills and proficiencies, in addition to basic Digital Single Lens Reflex [DSLR] and/or Mirrorless, Micro Four-Thirds [MFT] camera operation skills. To successfully complete the course, participants are required to bring a portable computer with adequate storage capacity to support Adobe Lightroom Classic CC.

COURSE DESCRIPTION — Adobe Lightroom Classic CC software is a powerful photography editing and management application that has a mystifying reputation. Unmask and reveal its potential to your workflow in this weekend-intensive workshop format! This hands-on experience engages participants in basic import, develop, and output workflow strategies, and perhaps even more importantly, obtaining a command of Lightroom architecture and cataloging functions that keeps track of images. If you join this workshop, then that peculiar "The file could not be found" error message is about to become lost to your past.

Once underway we learn to import, identify, and adjust single images in addition to batch-processing numerous images simultaneously. Other tasks such as white balancing, sharpening, noise reduction, retouching, and doing local adjustments and enhancements are also addressed.

We discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the export workflow, and answer questions like, "which file format [JPG, PSD, or TIF] is the best choice for the future use of this image?" The instructor presents several demonstrations, but also spends plenty of time working with each participant on their own images. Participants are required to bring their own portable computer with Lightroom Classic CC installed to successfully complete the course. Camera RAW files stored on board your computer best serve all the learning processes, tools, and techniques of the course.
